First let us take a look at drug addiction. What is drug addiction? Drug addiction is a brain disease because of the changes and structure of the brain.  Once addict‘s become addict they find that they can’t stop. Some addicts try to stop on sheer willpower only to find that they can’t fight the compulsive obsession for more drugs. Some become addict and turn to God or some form of religion.

Taking drugs isn’t a form of death, some of us need to take drugs, but only as prescribed by physician. Drug addiction is a form of death. Once a person becomes addict they die physically, psychologically, and spiritually.
The Sacred Art of Dying, quotes Sogyal Rinpoche who says:

"You die the way you live!" (Kramer pg. 198)
We must show empathy:
"Carefully and caringly listen to a dying person includes doing whatever you can to alleviate suffering (physical, emotional, spiritual), behaving compassionately and treating the person as a living being, respecting the patient’s wishes for information about his or her condition" (Kramer pgs. 198-199)
It important to listen to an active addict because we can learn how to help them.  In Tuesday's with Morrie, Morrie says:
"The most important thing in life is to learn how to give out love, and to let it come in" (Albom pg. 52)

10.How can a person become Drug free?
Drug addiction can’t be cured, however there is a way out of active addiction. That way is to stop, and recovery is then possible. Drug addiction comes in many different forms. Many young people are deceived to believe that alcohol isn’t a drug. The alcoholic experiences the same traumas as the drug addict. The alcoholic's life becomes better when he or she stops drinking.

In Success Built to Last coauthors Jerry Porras, Stewart Emery, Mark Thompson write:
"Builders achieve enduring success when they pour themselves into constructive habits-limiting their “addictions” to the passions that serve them." (Porras, Emery, Thompson pg. 134)

When I was in active addiction I didn’t think there was any hope, but when I gave my best to wanting to stop then I began not only to see the light at the end of  the tunnel, I walked through that light. Having hope, hope that is seen isn’t hope. Romans 8:32

HIV/AIDS what is HIV? HIV is Human Immunodeficiency Virus H stands for Human only humans can be infected with this disease. I Immunodeficiency weakens the immune systems destroying important blood cells that fight off diseases. V  Stands for virus. AIDS what is AIDS? Acquired Immune Deficiency HIV is the virus that leads to AIDS. Where did AIDS come from?   Drug addiction/ HIV/AIDS the reason I picked this topic was because I seen lots of old friends die with AIDS. There’s some old friends living with HIV, some have been living with HIV for over 20 years.

Drug addiction HIV/AIDS affects all of us in one way or another. We need to have compassion for people that have these deceases. Thank God for a better understanding through education concerning people who are living with HIV/AIDS. Confusion, violence, substance abuse, misinformation are variables and factors in our community. We need to keep working toward resolutions, treatment,  preventions, in the knowledge of  Drug Addiction and HIV/AIDS. We can never have enough education, educating to evolve raise the awareness for healthy living. community results ,out comes and resolution. If we do little. no one has to do it all. It hard by the yard but a cinch by the inch.
